Den Helder, Gravelijkheidsduinen.
WBN, VB Den Helder, Dutch Coastal Defence Battery Helsdiep.

Close to the location of Fort Kijkduin and overviewed by the FL250 Flagruko bunker, lies in the dunes the former Dutch Coastal Defence Battery Helsdiep.
In 1929 the Dutch built here a coastal defence battery with 3 gun emplacements to protect their main Naval harbour of Den Helder. During the mobilisation time in 1939/1940, there where guns placed of "15cm long 40" (calibre),, together with 3 measuring posts, a command post and other facilities. Near each emplacement a ammunition and personnel bunker where built.
The battery wasn't really used by the Germans in there Atlantikwall defence line. The battery has the same design as the location "Pieter Rozenvlak Wn. 21c H" on the island Texel.

The bunkers are placed under monumental protection and the dune area cannot be entered. There are possibilities to get a tour along the bunkers.
